aliases: The Rhythmist, Boxbanga Derek has been making electronic music since 1987, and began DJing a few years later. After some local radio airplay and a live performance at the world reknown 1015 Folsom Nightclub, he released his first track on a Silent Records Compilation. His is a style that stays true to techno in it's purest Detroit forms while introducing moody sounds and jazz-tainted rhythms to the mix. Derek is one funky mo-fo!
